Growing Up In A Farm
Dorothy Wilson described herself as coming from a household of four other siblings and growing up in poverty. Her parents, Kate and John Wilson, ran a small farm, which kept the family from going hungry during hard times. Dorothy, the family’s eldest child, was a young woman. As a result, she was considered responsible for a portion of the obligation involved with their upbringing. Peter, the youngest of the siblings, suffered from a mental illness that necessitated extra care and attention.
