Jonathan Schmier was a contractor who worked for the couple many times back in the day. It turned out that he had a problem with them as well! TMZ covered the story and reported that he talked about how the El Moussa couple owed him a lot of money for the work that he did. It turned out that they avoided paying him and refused to pay him any money in the end. This was not a good look for Tarek and Christina!

Jonathan Schmier further explained that he met the couple as they were checking out properties to fix up in North Carolina. Next Level Property Investments, their company, hired him to look for houses, which he did right away. He said that he was able to find five houses for them before they even broached the matter of payment. According to Jonathan, he was supposed to receive $5,000 for each house that he found. On top of that, he was supposed to get additional wages and bonuses for the out-of-hours that he worked. Despite this, he never saw a single penny from the company and the couple. We can see why he was furious enough to sue them for $37,800 to pay for his work.
