Changing Paths

Paige’s gymnastic career ended at the age of 12. She broke her kneecap twice and was devastated. She had a mourning time for around one week or two, for someone so young and full of dreams, it was devastating. After mourning, she talked to her parents about what sport she was going to take next. Paige said, “Being an athlete was so important to my self-identity that even at that age, I knew I needed to find another sport quickly.”

Bullied

It may appear that leaving gymnastics was not a right decision for her, particularly her feelings, but actually, it was better. She used to be harassed by other children when she trained as a gymnast. If you think about the damage all of the bullies gave her. The double-broken kneecap was a blessing in disguise. What was necessary at the time was that she had the opportunity to move forward and never look back on the days she was bullied.
