While civilians get to choose what kind of haircut they want to wear, soldiers all receive the same buzz-cut. After service has finished you can get whatever kind of haircut you want, but most will just stick to what they got used to.

Scanning Situations
At the very beginning, soldiers learn to scan and assess situations. They look out for anything that is out of the ordinary, and if need be, act. So don’t be surprised when your soldier partner rapidly scans a room or a concert or a family picnic in the park.
