What Are the ‘Crocodile Dundee’ Stars up to Today?

Published on 11/15/2017

The year was 1986 and Whitney Houston was dominating the radio. In the movie theaters it was a very different sort of entertainer that was snagging our attention: Paul Hogan as the Australian crocodile hunter, Crocodile Dundee. Crocodile Dundee came out of nowhere to succeed in the box office before becoming something of a longstanding cult classic. The film, despite its bizarre premise, was even nominated for an Oscar before spawning a true blue trilogy. Now fans are wondering what these stars are up to now so listed below, you’ll find the biggest stars of the Crocodile Dundee trilogy and what they are up to today!

John Meillon

John Meillon stole the show as Dundee’s on screen partner, Wally. While Meillon would go on to reprise his character in the sequel, Crocodile Dundee II, it would pretty much be his last role. Meillon would go on to pass away in 1989 due to cirrhosis of his liver. Before passing on he would garner serious accolades for his work in theater.

Ritchie Singer

While he may never have become a household name in the world of Hollywood, Ritchie Singer still is sporting some serious longevity in the industry. After playing Con in the original Crocodile Dundee he would go on to star in almost 30 different projects — including a recurring role on the TV show Crownies. Singer would also go on to share the screen with fellow Dundee co-star David Gulpilil in the critically acclaimed Charlie’s Country.

Mark Blum

Mark Blum was destined to be hated in the Dundee series after playing Richard — a sleazy editor standing in the way of Dundee and Sue finding their love. Since his role in Crocodile Dundee, Blum has continued to amass some serious credits, landing his 70th overall role in the hit TV show The Blacklist.

Reginald VelJohnson

Reginald VelJohnson had a minor role in the original Dundee film but that in no way stopped his career from blowing up. VelJohnson has since turned into one of the more famous character actors in Hollywood with big roles in Die Hard and Die Hard 2 as well as the hit show Family Matters. VelJohnson has appeared in 99 different projects.

Reginald VelJohnson

David Franklin

Franklin is far more remembered for his roles as Meeklo Braca in the science fiction television series Farscape and as Brutus in Xena: Warrior Princess then he is in the film Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles.

David Franklin

David Franklin

David Gulpilil

If you are the kind of person who can separate the actor as a person from the actor in the video film reviews, then David Gulpilil might just be your guy. Starring alongside Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee as Neville Bell, Gulpilil would show some serious talent. His career would continue to blow up with appearances in films like The Proposition and Charlie’s Country. Despite his on screen talent, Gulpilil has had several run ins with the law including being arrested for breaking his wife’s arm. Not a nice guy, but very talented.

Reginald David Gulpilil

Ernie Dingo

He played Charlie in Crocodile Dundee II before going on to become a busy character actor. While Dingo never really jumped to the next level in Hollywood he has stayed relatively busy. Dingo has racked up 34 credits in his career with his most recent work being on the TV show Redfern Now. The best way to find his work is to try and watch movies online as the majority of his gigs are relatively under the radar in America.

Rick Gonzalez

It’s a bit hard to imagine the incredible role of Timo Cruz from Coach Carter starring as a gang banger in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles, only because he’s come a long way from playing minimal roles. Then there’s Gonzalez’s role as Ben Gonzalez on the television series Reaper and as Naps in Roll Bounce. Currently he plays a superhero vigilante character known as Rene Ramirez “Wild Dog” on the CW superhero drama series Arrow.

Rick Gonzalez

Rick Gonzalez

Steve Rackman

Fans of wrestling back in the ’80s will know Steve Rackman more for his work inside of the ring as the brawler Crusher. Dundee fans will know Rackman for being the one guy to kiss Paul Hogan’s character in the first film as the meathead, Donk. Rackman would reprise his role in both of the following films before retiring to go back to Australia. He now runs a gym where he is a personal trainer.

Gerry Skilton

Gerry Skilton would have appearances in all three of the Crocodile Dundee films as the heart throb Nugget O’Cass. Unfortunately for actor Gerry Skilton those would be the only real roles on his resume. Skilton would retire from acting in 2001 after Hollywood quit sending him audition info. His last film would be Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles — like many other actors on this list.

Jonathan Banks

Jonathan Banks has probably had the most success in the post Crocodile Dundee world. Banks has most recently hit serious critical acclaim thanks to his role as a humble hitman in the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul AMC television shows. In any event, Burns has had quite the killer career since leaving the trilogy. Burns has some huge TV roles on his resume thanks to projects like The Muppets, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, and the hit TV series Justified as Wynn Duffy. Needless to say, it doesn’t look like Jere will ever be in need of some work to keep him busy.

Faiman’s last work in the industry was as a creative consultant for various TV shows.

Peter Faiman1

Paul Hogan

For a moment in time it looked like Paul Hogan as destined to be a huge star in Hollywood. Paul, Linda, & Chance

So much can happen in just one day which means that so much more can happen/change over time. And sadly this is the case for the Hogan’s. Back in the days of filming, the Hogan’s were nothing more then a picture perfect family of three. However, Paul and Linda’s divorce was very hard for all three of them, but especially for Chance. But now it’s hard to even believe that this is the same family – they look totally different, right?
